What is this? An out-take from "Dawn of the Dead"? I can just feel the excitement radiating from my computer screen. This is as stirring as Charles DeGaulle after he left Paris declaring "I am France!" Where's Frank DeSantis when you need him!!! God, Please make it stop! The production value of this must have easily topped $1.80. 1. Next time place the cue cards below and in front of the camera so that the speaker isn't constantly looking off to the left or right like a shifty eyed used car salesman. 2. With a long speech it is best to block it into a number of sections so that the camera position and distance from the speaker can be varied. this provides motion to an otherwise overly static shot. Never nail the camera to one place and let it run. 3. Have someone monitor the audio and if necessary use a wind screen to eliminate some of the echo from a "too live" room. 4. Your message may be great but if its riddled with flubs and drop outs RE-SHOOT IT! Unless of course you aren't serious to begin with. Everything I mentioned can be accomplished with no additional expense but it will take more planning and forethought on your end.
The 2005 contract is the root cause of many problems teachers in the classroom are experiencing today and are causing the fear senior teachers are having over the loss of seniority transfers. The current UFT leadership took a chance when they pushed that contract on the members. When a leadership does what they think is best over the will of the members (remember the delegate assemblies before the 2005 contract) they must take responsibility and culpability for their decisions. Thank you UTP for continuing bringing the importance of that issue to all that care about Union Democracy and better working conditions for teachers. TJC/ICE are starting to listen. The "fruits' of the 2005 are so bad that even some Unity folk are admitting they gave away too much. Though they are saying it very quietly.

For you Unity folk:

A Unity production?
That was 7 minutes too long. There is a reason commercials are 30 seconds.
Kit did a good job. Focus on the substance please.
I just viewed Kit's--who is running against Randi--video.
I think he did a wonderful job with his presentation. It spoke to the issues that I, as an elementary school teacher, feel needs addressing.
Teachers need to know there IS an alternative to Randi.

Why is he harping on 2005? WHy doesn't he talk more about what he is going to do?
2005 is the issue. We have to reverse 2005 before we can do anything.

Weingarten will crush Wainer by at least 88%-12%.
I think the Colts will win the Super Bowl, too.
For that matter we should fight for the 1995 or 1975 contract too.
Thanks for article!
