Max Factor Goes Off: NO SERVICE FOR YOU!

Our District Representative will not come to our school to tell us the pros and cons of the current contract. Instead, we may be visited by the Borough Representative, or even the Vice President may show up to hold our Chapter Leader's hand.

Apparently, our DR can pick and choose whom he will grace with his erudite observations and pearls of Unity wisdom. For one man to have such power AND two pensions boggles the collective Port Richmond High School mind. He works where he will, when he will, and with whom he will.

God help us we love him so!

Still, though, we can't elect those that should serve us, but we must be content with whomever Randi tosses our way.

That's Unity democracy.

Our DR is a freed man.
Our DR is free from the troublesome task of actually having to come to our school and talk
to the dues paying members.
Our DR is free from taking public transportation to our little slice of heaven and saves the cost of bus fare.
Our DR is free from having to answer questions from a group of people that can actually think for themselves.
Our DR is free to continue earning a double pension for not showing up or doing anything that the title of DR implies.
Our DR is free to be happy the way thing are.
We are not free to vote for who should represent us.
We are not free to make up our own minds about anything important- our "union president" knows what's best.
We are treated very much like children-except children have rights and have groups that advocate on their behalf.
We have a union that gave back everything in the last contract.
We have a union that now offers us peanuts and touts that the new contract has no give backs.
We have a union that thinks it's okay for its excessed members to be offered an "undecided" voluntary buyout.
We have a union that didn't try to regain anything that was lost.
We have a DR who withholds his services because we won't roll over when the union tells us to.

The kind of cynicism expressed here is why there won't be change. Unity counts on people giving up. Organize instead of complaining.

VOTE NO just to whow that there is opposition out there to a contract that is celebrated that doesn't even keep up with inflation.

The last post should say to show not "whow". Ooops sorry, I'm just not happy about the contract and the UTP lack of a reaction.

We love this contract, we're all voting "yes". Stop complaining about people complaining and maybe there will be some change.
